“A Church of children who see themselves as brothers and sisters, will never end up considering anyone simply as a burden, a problem, an expense, a concern or a risk. Other persons are essentially a gift, and always remain so, even when they walk different paths.” Pope Francis, Oct. 3, 2015
Who we are
We are committed members of the Catholic church who wish to in helping contribute to the church’s growth in fidelity to the Gospel. We are not bound to the church’s institutional structures; however, we do strive to carry out all our activities in compliance with the church regulations and with respect to its teachings.
What we stand for
We believe that the Church can be and should be a place for everyone to experience God’s presence and find support on their spiritual journey. In particular, we would like to see that space opening wider for homosexual people – regardless of their convictions or current status – especially those who see the Catholic church as their home or feel drawn to its spiritual richness. We would like to help that process by promoting solid, verified, up-to-date knowledge in regard to psychological aspects of sexual orientation as well as the theological and pastoral response to this issue within the church. We believe that it is crucial that our help reaches those involved directly in the pastoral work of the church: Catholic clergy, seminarians, religion teachers, members of parish councils, lay leaders of Catholic movements and other pastoral workers. Our priority is given to supporting parish priests as key people in creating and modeling an open and respectful attitude towards homosexual members of their ecclesial communities. An important aspect of our work is to facilitate personal development of pastors so they are able to engage in those pastoral relations without prejudice and fear and with growing self-confidence.
What we do
We run workshops on the subject of sexual orientation and pastoral care in regard to homosexual people in the ecclesial community. Our workshops have both educational and practical elements and aim at providing information as well as creating space for discussion and personal development. We do not try to impose any particular view or conviction in regard to homosexuality, theology or church practice: our purpose is to create an atmosphere of searching for truth (based on whatever knowledge we have so far) and look together for the best possible pastoral solutions.
We want to ensure that all our workshops are accessible to any interested pastor or pastoral worker so there is no obligatory payment required from workshop participants.
